For a company to truly embrace Decision Quality tools and processes (Organisational DQ), a change of mindset across the organisation is required where Decision Makers, Leadership, Project Teams and the organisation as a whole are all communicating with the same terminology, challenging each other to be creative in developing options, open to review, having the right quality discussion at all levels and focusing on allowing alternatives to compete with each other rather than individuals or teams championing one alternative only.
More importantly a willingness to discuss the quality of the decision prior to making that decision by the project team and for review by the decision makers. There also requires a commitment from Leadership in this implementation phase and support for training across the organisation. This will move the organisation away from leaving decision making to chance, improve the quality in decision making and increase the probability of good outcomes across the portfolio over time
